Bonita Springs-based Vogue Interiors announced it has completed the interior design of Wyman Stokes Builder, LLC’s Hibiscus model residence at Verandah. The 2,270 square feet under air great room home includes three bedrooms, three baths, a large study that can serve as additional sleeping space, an island kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a nicely sized dining area. Twenty-four feet long pocketing sliders open the great room to a 470 square feet covered lanai and a large deck and pool beyond. The fully-furnished Hibiscus residence is priced at $545,000. The Hibiscus base floor plan is priced at $384,000.
“My design intention was to provide a country feeling that is consistent with Verandah’s overall ambiance while creating a clean, Transitional Shaker design style,” said Vogue’s Janice Maskell, a State of Florida Licensed Interior Designer. “To accomplish that, the design includes lots of linear lines and minimal accessories. The color pallet includes soft taupe with aqua and green accents and fabrics. The light taupe walls have a bit of a green undertone. We used porcelain tile flooring set in a staggered linear pattern. Wyman Stokes has been building homes in Lee County for 25 years, including 108 homes in Verandah alone. Because they are a smaller builder, they take a very ‘hands-on’ approach to construction. The Hibiscus’ architectural design offered the possibility of creating an interior that is casually elegant and that’s what we’ve done.”
Maskell’s casual elegance is established in the foyer where a curio cabinet with a distressed finish, glass door fronts with an applied molding detail, a darker toned bead board back and lighted glass shelves is used to display a variety of collected items. A two-piece entertainment center in the great room has the same distressed finish that is complimented by louvered doors. The piece has a decidedly Florida look with country influences. Above the entertainment center, a wall-mounted television is flanked by applied molding details that frame marine themed art pieces with aqua frames. A Sisal area rug in the great room establishes Maskell’s use of natural elements, including organic fabrics and textures, throughout the home. The room’s double coffered ceiling is trimmed with an elegant crown molding detail painted in a soft taupe with a gloss finish. A furniture grouping that includes an inviting sectional sofa, matching side chairs in a light green fabric with taupe trim and a wood accent chair with colonial legs provides an open arrangement. The adjacent study is an ideal setting for a sofa or Murphy bed and offers an alternative area for television viewing.
Maskell has created a wine corking and bar area between the great room and kitchen that serves as an inviting entertainment area with glass storage. Shaker style cabinetry with bead board fronts and a fruitwood finish is topped by a granite countertop and wave pattern glass tile backsplash. Tall upper cabinets have glass fronts and shelves and frame a pair of open shelves. In the kitchen, the clean lined traditional Shaker perimeter cabinetry has a soft white finish that plays against a stainless steel Frigidaire appliance package and granite countertops. A stainless steel farmer’s sink faces a raised bar with two barstools. The island features a fruitwood toned base and granite countertop. A dining area situated between the kitchen and the covered lanai includes a fruitwood finished dining table and x-back chairs with soft white frames and green and aqua cotton fabric with a fretwork pattern that conveys a cottage-like feeling. A china cabinet with mullioned glass door fronts and lighted glass shelves is finished in the same soft white tone.
The home’s pocketing sliders open the great room and dining area to a magnificent covered lanai with a gas fireplace that is centered in a beautifully executed fruitwood finished built-in that continues the wood tone of the wine corking station and bar inside. A television is mounted above the fireplace on a fruitwood stained bead board wall that is framed by linear split-stone marble pillars. The stone is repeated in the fireplace surround. The built-in’s Shaker style cabinets have bead board fronts that are in keeping with the home’s elegant country motif and are topped by granite countertops. The living room-like lanai includes dining and sitting areas that combine with the indoor great room to provide an open venue that is ideal for entertaining.
The light taupe master bedroom has another double coffered ceiling with crown molding. A four- poster king sized iron bed includes a bedding ensemble in soft green with strawberry accents that match the tone of a chaise lounge that is trimmed with taupe piping. Aged linen finished night stands have fruitwood stained tops that continue Maskell’s warm wood tones. The same fruitwood finish is also found on the master bath’s his and her vanity that includes a granite countertop. Porcelain tile flooring continues up shower walls that feature an eye height small stone listello.
