Vogue Interiors announced it has completed the design and execution of the interior of Harbourside Custom Homes’ second Villa d’Este fully-furnished model residence in the Fairgrove neighborhood at Talis Park in North Naples. Vogue’s Debbie DeMaria, ASID, IDS and Leslie Gebert, Allied Member, ASID were named recipients of BIA’s Pinnacle Merit Award in the Best Interior Design – Single Family Home $1,500,000 – $1,999,999 category for their design of Harbourside’s first Villa d’Este model residence at Talis Park. The first model sold the day it opened for viewing in the spring of 2013. The interior of the new Villa d’Este was designed by Gebert and Sheila Herrera, IDS Associate.
Gebert and Herrera have brought a light, airy, sophisticated look to the Villa d’Este’s 3,175 square feet great room floorplan. The plan includes three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, a study, a formal dining room, a kitchen with a long, wrap-around island with a raised bar and a massive outdoor living area with a covered lanai, multiple seating areas, an outdoor kitchen, a fireplace, a pool and a spa. The design mixes light, clean-lined woods with a neutral palette of taupe, charcoal and medium gold wall tones accented by soft to vibrant metallic golds, taupes and creams. Sateen and taupe accent pillows in the great room feature a contemporized embroidered flame stitch reminiscent of a 1950’s and ’60’s Hollywood look. Flooring throughout the living areas is 12″ x 24″ rectangular porcelain tile with shades of taupe while the study features wood flooring.
“The slightly different elevation of the new Villa d’Este features a lighter color with darker roofing and fascia than the original model,” said Herrera. “The floorplan allows easy movement throughout the home. It flows beautifully and has a very spacious feeling. From the moment one steps into the foyer, the eye is drawn through the great room’s pocketing sliders to the glittering waters of the pool and to Fairgrove’s signature golf course, water and preserve views. The outdoor living area is an extension of the great room and the two spaces blend together easily and comfortably. We established the design’s light, elegant look with a double-box vibrant metallic gold and warm silver chandelier in the foyer complimented by a mirrored console furniture piece with gold accents.”
The great room features a taupe-finished entertainment center with a television area flanked by a wet bar and shelving for displaying collected items. The flanking sections include granite countertops and antique mirrored backsplashes. Furnishings in the great room includes two accent chairs with soft gold chenille fabric and gold nail head trim, a third accent chair in a more vibrant gold, a two-tiered cocktail table with a cream finished wood top and metal legs, an accent table with a stone top and an open taupe finished base, a rectangular end table in a darker taupe finish, an accent drum table with gold metal legs and a sofa with linen fabric and nail head trim, all of which are grouped around an 8′ x 10′ area rug with swirled browns, golds and greys.
Gebert and Herrera continue their look in the formal dining room with a cream-finished dining table that includes decorative inserts across the top. The host and hostess chairs feature a bright gold velvet fabric with gold nail heads while the side chairs have square backs with a metallic taupe fabric pad in the middle that is fashioned in a circle. The room’s statement piece is a cream credenza set in a niche that has capiz shell insets on the doors. The niche is finished with taupe-colored cork wallpaper with a metallic gold background. A gold, multi-arm chandelier with drum-shaped shades and candelabra bulbs completes the look.
The kitchen’s long raised bar offers a gathering place ideal for entertaining. An inner island features a warm medium-grey base to provide contrast against cream-toned perimeter cabinetry that includes a warm grey glaze. Granite countertops with a very light cream background and swirling taupe and grey accents that provide movement are used throughout the kitchen. The breakfast nook’s 60-inch circular table seats four and overlooks the Villa d’Este’s spacious outdoor living area. The table has a drum base with a gold metallic finish that plays against chairs with taupe, chagrin-type fabric.
A double-door entry opens to a study with wood flooring and a deep, dark taupe built-in with gold background walls. The built-in offers attractive shelf spaces and storage cabinets as well as a computer desk. A floating desk in front of the built-in features the same dark taupe finish and a top with gold details framed in a tone that matches the piece’s legs and front. A cream-toned chair is presented in a revised wing chair look. The room’s two-toned walls include charcoal banding under beautiful crown molding with an accent molding to separate the band from the primary humble gold wall color. A grey linen fabric accent chair and a window treatment with cream side panels and repeating flame-stitched stripes in charcoal, grey and gold bring additional elegance to the space.
The master bedroom’s bed exudes the elegance Gebert and Herrera have brought to the Villa d’Este. The bed is fully upholstered with tufted charcoal velvet that plays against bright metallic gold pillows with metallic cream dots. Shams with wide, bold stripes are set against a neutral bed covering. The dramatic bold stripes on the shams are repeated on the drapes. The room’s tray ceiling is finished with a metallic silver wall covering that compliments grey-toned night stands with mirrored fronts and a chair with a gold fabric that features silver threads and nail head trim.
A tub centered in the room reinforces the master bath’s linear architectural design and provides a focal point. The bath features a double walk-in shower, his and her vanities with a cream finish and granite countertops, and vivid metallic gold accent tiles on the floor, shower and tub deck.
