Vogue Interiors announced award-winning designer Leslie Gebert, Allied Member, ASID has completed the design and execution of a coastal styled interior for a Carrara condominium at the Talis Park community in North Naples. At build-out, the Carrara neighborhood will feature 90 penthouse-style condominiums in 15 midrise buildings overlooking Talis Park's Greg Norman- Pete Dye designed golf course. Each building includes three floors over parking with two residences per floor. A completed private hospitality area for Carrara residents includes a pool, a covered gathering area, restrooms, and grills.
Priced from the mid-$700s, Carrara offers the simplicity of maintenance-free condominium living along with the luxurious ambiance one would expect in Talis Park. Each residence includes a private elevator lobby, a spacious great room, a gourmet island kitchen, an "on the view" owner’s suite, two guest ensuites, a library/media room, a powder bath, and secured ground level parking. The luxury penthouse-style residences offer more than 2,900 square feet of air conditioned living space and feature wraparound loggias.
Gebert has created and fully realized an airy coastal-inspired design for the light-filled Carrara residence. With a restful palette featuring sandy ivory as a background color, and soft dove grey and robin’s egg blue as accents, the casually contemporary residence offers amazing long views of the Talis Park golf course from the great room and the owners’ suite. Finishes have all been designed to be both low-maintenance and luxurious at the same time. Throughout the main living area, beach sand colored wood-plank porcelain tile creates a breezy flow from the private elevator entrance straight through to the open loggias.
The elevator foyer provides an initial hint of the subtle coastal design theme with a 36-inch high base of semi-gloss white wainscoting topped with dove grey hand-pleated wallpaper. Two brushed satin nickel sconces with white shades glow on either side of the double door entry that provides the first look into the great room and the views from the loggias. In the main foyer, a decorative floor design echoes the intricate shape of the custom pop up ceiling details above. A four-inch band of sand colored mosaic tile is set in a rectangular shape and serves as a border for the inset wood-plank porcelain.
In the expansive great room, a plush oversized sectional with dove grey leather cushions piped in cream leather showcases multiple throw pillows covered in varied clear shades of blue. A large square distressed driftwood grey cocktail table sits in front of the sectional and the entire seating area is anchored by a soft area rug in an abstract pattern of pale robin’s egg blue, crisp navy, and cream. A clean-lined chrome console table with a silvered glass top sits behind the sectional and faces the kitchen. At the far end of the long great room, two nubby textured sand linen swivel chairs are positioned to take advantage of the exceptional open views. The main entertainment wall features a streamlined media cabinet done in a gray wash finish with cream sides and bold decorative chrome hardware. Sheer and airy ivory window treatments with a subtle silver metallic thread dress the 90-degree pocketing sliders that open to the loggia and the view of the golf course.
The kitchen layout is also oriented toward the remarkably open view. With all the kitchen cabinetry in a painted off-white finish, the warm brown granite used on the countertops and the bar provides an interesting contrast. The kitchen backsplash is done in a soft cream rectangular subway tile. The barstools at the kitchen counter are upholstered in a rich marine blue textured tweed and the same fabric appears on the curved banquette seating that dramatically wraps the dining area and faces the kitchen. The banquette surrounds a 72-inch round glass table that can seat eight people. Additional wood framed dining chairs are upholstered in the same marine blue and join the banquette to provide cozy dining. Custom off-white plantation shutters provide both light and privacy for the three windows behind the table. Adjacent to the dining area, the wet bar features the same off-white cabinetry used in the kitchen, the backsplash is a shimmering neutral glass tile, and the countertops surrounding the sink above the wine cooler are off-white quartz. The lighted upper cabinetry has glass fronts for display and storage.
Across from the powder room in the entry, the double-doored library/media room opens to an intimate private loggia. The flooring in the room is the same wood plank tile used in the living area, but the color palette changes to soft blue walls with crisp white trim. A textured light cream shag rug anchors the taupe linen sleeper sofa and the floating 30-inch by 60-inch working desk is finished in reclaimed driftwood. A clean-lined tan linen chair sits at the desk. A large original painting over the sofa bed deftly depicts a sea bird painted in shades of blue and gray. Those same colors echo the palette of navy, taupe, cream and light blue seen in the accent pillows on the sofa bed.
The owners’ suite colors are comprised of cool ivories, rich creams and light blues accented by a liberal touch of warm camel tones. The king-size bed features four dramatic high tester bedposts and is dressed in off-white bedding done in a cream linen fabric that has a camel braid of natural raffia for texture. A cream, blue and camel oriental linen print appears on the decorative bed pillows. A soft cream textured area rug softens the floor under the bed. The transitional nightstands have a pale cream finish that matches the finish on the front of a long dresser with driftwood sides. A white-framed club chair is upholstered in camel linen and sits next to the sliding doors leading to the loggia.
The flooring in the master bath changes to a large light sand porcelain tile that wraps the tub surround and is used throughout the shower where it includes an accent of neutral Listello tile. All the master bath cabinetry has a soft cream finish and the counters are topped with a beachy sand granite. The walls in the bath are papered in a sky blue wallpaper that features a silver metallic highlight details.
The loggia off the great room has an amazing long view overlooking the golf course. Chaise lounges set on an angle face the course. For outdoor entertaining, the space features a dark espresso rectangular dining table and six dining chairs with tan cushions set on a diagonal in the corner of the loggia to maximize the views. A matching espresso all-weather wicker sectional with tan cushions and blue and cream pillows faces a large wall-mounted television hung above a driftwood media console. The openwork design area rug provides a strong jolt of electric blue to enliven the area.
