Vogue Interiors announced it has completed the design and execution of the interior of Harbourside Custom Homes’ Villa Adriana fully-furnished model residence at Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club, a residential waterfront resort community located in Miromar Lakes just north of Naples. The interior of the 2,593 under air three-bedroom plus study, three-and-a-half bath home was designed by Vogue’s Sheila Herrera, IDS Associate and Leslie Gebert, Allied Member, ASID.
“Our design motif for this home is one of relaxed elegance in a soft contemporary style,” said Herrera. “The color palette is based on neutral taupes and greys with splashes of black to add drama and contrast, and also tangerine and lime green for some pops of color. The flooring in the main living areas is a very light and neutral 20 x 20 diagonal stone while the hardwood study floor is a dark taupe. We have incorporated a lot of clean lines in the design while maintaining a sense of warm and comfortable elegance throughout. The end result is very dramatic and appealing.”
The elegance begins as soon as you enter through double doors to the foyer and are met by a series of sweeping arches in the gallery hallway. A built-in floating console, custom-designed by Herrera in a dark toned wood, makes an immediate statement. Incorporated and recessed into a wide wall niche, the console acts as an architectural feature to accent the artwork above which is lit by niche lighting. The wall above the niche is accented with trim molding to add dimension to the arches along the hallway. The gallery also serves as a vestibule to a guest suite and to pocketing doors that open to the study.
The gallery opens to a spacious great room that offers views of the outdoor living area, pool, and lake beyond. The great room seating area includes an over-sized sofa in a cream linen tone with accent pillows that reflect the color palette of the house. Herrera and Gebert drew their inspiration from the fabrics that mix taupe and grey with splashes of tangerine, lime green, and a touch of blue. The pillows also add visual interest with their textured, furry and beaded styles. Two upholstered chairs in a soft smoke suede-like fabric provide contrast. Ebony feet on the chairs and sofa introduce a pop of black for added drama, a design element continued throughout the home. The rectangular cocktail table has a neutral leather look with silver nail heads. One of the end tables is mirrored with silver accents and the other has an ebony finish. Across from the seating area, columns create the perfect niche for a dark wood media console. Both the columns and console wall are covered in pewter, metallic-finish mica. The front sections of the console feature intricate circular patterns which are also mirrored and create movement and contrast. Long, frosted tube sconces with metallic banding and geometric shapes enrich the lighting in the room.
A wet bar extends along one wall of the great room into the kitchen to seamlessly integrate the two gathering spaces. The wet bar also features ebony cabinetry, a granite countertop, a chiseled stone backsplash, and an under counter refrigerator. A large, counter height central island in the kitchen has seating for four providing the ideal space for casual entertaining. The island base has been completed in an ebony finish while the perimeter cabinetry is in a contrasting light taupe. Granite countertops are presented in a variety of taupe tones with subtle black veining.
Adjacent to the kitchen and great room is a dining space overlooking the outdoor living area and pool. This space features a circular glass-topped table, and chairs with tall woven backs in a bold taupe and black stripe, and federal blue seats. The decorative light fixture matches the pendant lights suspended over the kitchen island.
Sliders across the rear of the home allow a smooth transition from indoor to outdoor living. A comfortable seating arrangement with four square Sunbrella armchairs and cocktail table is set in front of a large fireplace with a beautifully executed horizontal stone surround. Accent colors of tangerine and blue are highlighted in the chair cushions and striped rug. The outdoor kitchen includes teak cabinetry, a granite countertop, an under counter stainless refrigerator, and a grill. Beyond the covered lanai is a sparkling screened pool and spa with spacious pool deck. A pool bath also functions as the home’s powder bath.
The study features two framed-in panels on one wall using contrasting grey tones to highlight the art within. Two chrome-framed, open étagère bookcases with exotic wood backs are presented on the opposite wall. The desk has a chrome geometric base with a clean-cut, medium wood tone top. The desk chair is finished in brown wood with geometric fabric in taupe and lime green. A warm gold-toned floor rug blends with an accent chair in a light neutral fabric, while long drapes in a beautiful taupe and gold ikat pattern enhance the sophistication of the room.
Herrera and Gebert have continued their soft contemporary theme in the master bedroom where the tones remain neutral with splashes of sophisticated black and gold. The cream-colored, fully upholstered bed with tall tufted headboard perfectly showcases the light bed linens which are sprinkled with distinctive swirling, monogram-style patterns in black. The dresser is finished in dark ebony while the night stands have a combination finish with gold tone doors and unique hardware that creates a jeweled effect. A sitting area has been created in front of the picture window which overlooks the pool and view. Elegant nesting tables are arranged adjacent to a comfortable chair upholstered in a neutral linen fabric. To either side, completing the serenity of the room, are long sheer drapes with a contemporary pattern of large leaves in taupe and black.
The master bathroom features a double sink vanity with granite counters in shades of cream and taupe that blends beautifully with the chocolate-glazed cream cabinetry. A horizontal inlay of mosaic glass tiles decorates the shower walls. The main tile is continued across the tub front and deck while overhead a sheer window treatment in gauzy taupe drapes softly at the bathroom window. Continuing the theme of elegant black accents, this bathroom features wallpaper with a bold black damask pattern against a warm silver background.
