Vogue Interiors announced it has been selected to design and execute the interior of Harbourside Custom Homes’ Villa Adreana fully-furnished model residence at Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club, a residential waterfront resort community located in Miromar Lakes just north of Naples. The interior of the 2,593 under air three-bedroom plus study, three-and-a-half bath home is being designed by Vogue’s Sheila Herrera, I.D.S. and Leslie Gebert, ASID. Completion of the Villa Adreana is anticipated in January, 2014.
Design Style and Intention
We went with clean lines which seems to be the hot trend. We went with darker woods so we went with the espresso kind of finishes but we also did a lot of greys; pops of greys. Now that’s the color palette and what is your intention with the design? A very clean fresh look with pops of colors. We did a little touch of glam because we’ve got our sparkle. It’s a relaxed elegance because we have this granite type wall covering in the living room but yet it’s a very comfortable elegance with the seating and everything. I would call it a soft contemporary. The color palette is taupes and neutrals with splashes of black and then we have tangerines and lime greens. The flooring throughout the home is 20 by 20 diagonal stone which is a travertine kind of color; very light and neutral and that goes throughout the living areas. The study is a hardwood floor which is a medium tone; it’s like a really dark taupe color.
Entryway/Foyer
So you come through the double door entry and you’re into a long gallery hallway that has three arches to it and at the end of the hallway you’re looking out through the great room and all the way out to the outdoor living area. And as you go down this gallery hallway there’s an entry to a small vestibule and an entry to bedroom number three and bath number three and then there is also a pocketing door to the study. So in this long gallery hallway with the three arches and the bedroom three vestibule and the pocketing doors going into the study on the left side.
This is a build-out that we did; it’s actually a floating console. I designed this architectural feature to accent the art that will go on that wall that’s lit and it has the wainscoting on it to give it a nice architectural detail. This is a console…it’s not very deep. It’s made out of wood but it’s built in. So there’s a built in console that is built with a top; you’re creating kind of a niche wall here with this arch here. So you have this built in console and above that will be an art piece and above that will be wainscoting that will be done in a design that kind of plays with the arch at the top of the niche which follows with the other arches down the hallway. And then there are two matching consoles in the foyer.
The Study
We’re doing framed-in panels on the wall on one side and I’m sure we’ll do some sort of art in them. The other side of the room has a wall where the bookcase is a darker tone with a chrome framework. They are chrome framed open etagere bookcases with an exotic wood back. The desk is a medium wood tone with a chrome geometric base. The chair is finished in a brown wood with a geometric fabric in taupe and lime green. The accent chair is in like a chegreen type fabric that is very neutral and the drape has a beautiful ikat fabric pattern in taupe and gold.
Kitchen/Dining Area
This is a great room plan and it doesn’t appear to have a formal dining room. It’s a nicely sized great room that flows into a kitchen with a very large counter height island. The island has bar stool seating for four and it has a black island base. So the island base is in an ebony finish and the perimeter cabinetry is in a very light taupe. The countertop is granite with a combination of light taupes with some specs and some movement with a little touch of black veining. And that is for both the perimeter and the island. I hesitate on the island because I don’t recall if it is bar height or counter height. As I look at it it looks to me like the barstools should be over here and it should be a counter height. I can’t imagine that the sink is at a bar height. So we’re going to call this a counter height island. There is a wet bar with a wet bar sink and an under counter refrigerator. What kind of countertop is going there? That is also the black that matches the island base and there’s a chiseled stone backsplash and the countertop is the same as the kitchen. Off of the kitchen is the dining area which seats five which is an odd number. It’s a circular table. A lot of times we do five because in a situation like that it’s better than four but there isn’t enough room for six so it gives you that extra seat. Alright so we have a 60 inch dining room table and pocketing sliders that open up to the outdoor living area.
Outdoor Living
The outdoor living area has a fireplace and a kitchen with a sink, a grill, an under counter refrigerator. There’s a pool bath that also functions as the home’s powder bath.
Great Room
In the great room we have a very nice over sized deep sofa that is in the linen type cream tones with black legs to repeat the black and then it also has accent pillows that are basically the color palette of the house; which are the lime greens, the taupes, the greys, and the pop of the orange/tangerine, and a little touch of the blues. The pillows really set the stage for the house. That was our inspiration fabric. We also have some very textured, furry, and beaded kind of pillows that are on the sofa. The cocktail table is a rectangular leather looking table with silver nail heads and one of the end tables is mirrored with silver accents and then we have one that’s in the ebony finish. It’s a round end table. And then we have one that has circular moldings and it’s mirrored and it has this same dark ebony kind of finish on that piece. Where is this going and we call that a console piece? It’s a media console piece That the television will go over and then we have two columns that have this mica that I was telling you about. And the columns create a niche for that console. The columns are wrapped in that striped mika that runs horizontal and in the center is the mika that coordinates with it; you drop the stripe and it’s a solid and they are both in kind of a pewter metallic finish. Tell me again about the front of this media console. It is moldings cut into a circular pattern that creates a lot of movement and it is mirrored. So it has the combination of the dark wood with mirroring. Ok, the front is divided into four sections and the pattern of the cut is mimicked in each of the four. The two chairs are upholstered and they are in a very soft smoked colored suede like fabric with ebony feet so again that pop of the black. We went with black throughout the house to create drama.
Master Suite
The door opens up and we turn right through an arched opening into the master bedroom that is off of the outdoor living area.
Master Bedroom
We have an upholstered tufted headboard; actually it’s a completely upholstered bed with the side rails, foot rails, and everything. It’s in a very light cream fabric and then the bed has a combination of stripes with kind of a geometric swirl type monogram type pattern. It has long, fur type pillows and the drape is sheer with great big leaves that are kind of contemporary leaves that have taupe and black; again that pop of the black and then we have a lot of gold accents as well. The furniture itself is in a very dark ebony finish and the night stands have kind of a combination finish with a piece of hardware that kind of creates a jeweled effect on the piece. And it looks like you have a little sitting area. Yes, there are nesting tables that have a geometric pattern on top that are cream with black legs. The chair is kind of a linen fabric and it’s neutral.
Master Bath
It is not his and her vanities it looks like we have a double sink vanity. The master bath has a beautiful enlarged damask wallpaper and the damask pattern is in black with the background in a warm silver. The cabinet is in a cream with a chocolate glaze. The tub has a tub deck. There is a window in there and we have a taupe sheer window treatment. It’s a very soft taupe sheer window treatment and it kind of has a metallic. Where are those glass tiles going? In the shower and I am sure there are accents on the tub and in the shower. So there are glass tile accents in the tub deck and in the shower.
Closing
What is your overall take on this particular residence? It is going to be very dramatic. It is going to be very, very dramatic because of the pops of the black and the contrasts of the really light finishes against it. It will be appealing to a lot of people and again to me it is a casual elegance. What part of Miromar are we in and what are we looking out to? I have not seen the lot yet so I don’t know.

The overall impression will convey a classic casual elegance that will have broad appeal and convey a fresh Florida feeling. The fabric selections are durable, functional and comfortable.”
Herrera establishes her classic overtones in the foyer where visitors will be greeted by a beautiful mirror with an antique silver leaf frame, a whimsical console table and a silver chandelier. The foyer opens to the formal living room where pocketing sliders provide a view of the pool and outdoor living area. A silver and crystal chandelier suspended from the living room’s architectural coffered ceiling conveys another note of classic elegance. Furnishings include a sofa in a soft, light neutral pearlized linen fabric with nail head accents, left and right single-arm chairs with button tufted rhinestones and a pair of lighted gold metallic curio cabinets that will house decorative accessories. The seating is grouped around a multi-colored long shag area rug presented in various shades of taupe and cream.
A combination of gold and silver tones is found in the formal dining room where a light, cream vanilla dining table with soft, elegant lines and graceful legs is surrounded by tone-on-tone side chairs with a geometric pattern and solid host and hostess chairs with a soft, rosy taupe velvet fabric. A cream-toned sideboard is finished with gold pulls. Glass bead wall covering is used to finish the recessed areas of a quad-coffer ceiling.
The quad-coffer ceiling treatment is repeated in the study where the light-toned, wood-like floors play against a vanilla-toned built-in and a desk with gold legs and hardware. The legs of the vanilla finished desk are executed in a large circular pattern that Herrera repeats elsewhere in the home. A desk chair is presented in a light neutral fabric that is contrasted by draperies in a smoky taupe tone with a bit of aqua. The flooring, furnishings and draperies all play against the room’s soft aqua walls.
In keeping with Herrera’s clean lined, classic look, a light cream granite with delicate flecks and river-like movement is used on the kitchen’s island and perimeter counters and as a backsplash. The counter height island base is light taupe and the perimeter cabinetry is ivory with a taupe glaze. Pendant lighting fixtures are set over the island’s counter height bar area. An adjacent breakfast area overlooks the outdoor living area from a butt-glass window finished with a raw linen cornice accented with metallic thread and a rhinestone scroll pattern. A circular glass-topped dining table has a base that repeats Herrera’s circular theme and chairs with a wave type fabric in aqua, taupe and a bit of blush as well as silver nail heads.
Ninety-degree pocketing sliders open the Ponte Vedra Grande’s large family room to the outdoors. Herrera has positioned a vanilla-toned credenza with silver hardware in a niche wall that also hosts a television. Seating is provided by an exquisitely soft, casual velvet sofa and a pair of side chairs in a cream and aqua fabric with a metallic blush colored leather ottoman. The cocktail table and end table have a cream finish with a gold accent and a sofa table has an animal embossed top and once again recalls the large circular theme. A hemp area rug is done in darker taupe and aqua tones that compliment the room’s aqua grey walls and tray ceiling.
Herrera is furnishing the sitting area in Stock Signature Homes’ hallmark outdoor living area with a sofa, matching chairs, a console table and two swivel chairs that allow a view of the pool and spa that are finished with an earthy-toned glass waterline tile to compliment the neutral taupe deck tone. The fabrics on the furnishings are done in creams, silver greys and taupes to reflect the color palette inside the home. The summer kitchen area includes counter height bar stools and a clean-lined circular metal and wicker table with four chairs. A third covered space off the master bedroom is festooned with inviting palm trees and greenery.
The master suite reflects Herrera’s use of soft colors and elegant finishes. An upholstered tufted bed features a headboard with an antique mirror border presented in a series of half-circles in alternating directions. The border reaches a point at the top where it is crowned with a shell motif. The bed is covered with blush pink and taupe fabric with an oversized print. The walls are also blush pink and provide a background for a vanilla toned dresser and nightstands, all of which have gold hardware and accents. The room is completed with a sunburst gold mirror over the dresser and a kidney shaped metallic silver and gold desk with a fluted design.
The master bath is graced with neutral tile flooring that has a marble look and silver and gold wallpaper with a serpentine pattern. A long tub is centered between his and her vanities with cream-toned cabinetry and light granite countertops. The back wall of the tub is finished with decorative glass and stone tile that is carried into the double entry walk-in shower and mixed with porcelain that matches the floor covering.
