Vogue Interiors’ Leslie Gebert, Allied Member, ASID has completed the interior design for a 6,154 square feet under air grand estate residence built by Diamond Custom Homes in Firenze at Talis Park. Visitors will step into a foyer leading to a grand parlour with a fireplace. A grand room and an adjoining island kitchen and breakfast space serve as the residence’s primary living area. A wet bar is included in the grand room. The floor plan also includes a formal dining room, a study, four bedrooms, four and a half baths plus a pool bath, and a 1,214 square-foot outdoor living area. Walk-in closets flank a hallway leading to the master bedroom. The master bath features dual water closets and vanities, a walk-in shower, and a free-standing tub.
Gebert’s intention was to create an elegant yet comfortable home that maintains a soft sense of sophistication. A color palette that includes soft cream backgrounds with champagne metallic, cream, soft gold, and pale lavender accents plays against Avorio DiSegesta beige marble stone flooring from Italy. Clatina stone flooring with mother of pearl insets is showcased in the master bath.
A stone mosaic floor inlay presented in soft cream, gold, and lavender tones establishes Gebert’s palette in the foyer. A curio cabinet showcases etched glass starburst doors, accessories, and a collection of amethyst geodes. A niche hosts an upholstered window seat topped with pillows. Behind the window seat, the wall is finished with square mirrors framed by custom molding and bookended by dual sconces that match a drum chandelier.
The fireplace surround in the grand parlour is finished with taupe granite framed by applied molding. Above the mantle, applied molding details and a painting of water lilies bring additional elegance to the space. To one side of the fireplace, a mirrored pedestal includes a floral arrangement. To the other, an upholstered chair in cream velvet is accented by a metallic fabric pillow with a custom braid. A creamy velvet sofa includes accent pillows in tones that mimic the foyer. The sofa is flanked by contemporary wing chairs finished with creamy velvet and soft lavender fabrics and an embroidered hombre gold design on the back. A cocktail table has a gold metal base with a mother of pearl stone top and is anchored by a woolen silk area rug in soft cream and lavender. The end tables are finished in a translucent metallic and topped by crystal lamps. Draperies flanking the room’s tall windows are taupe sateen with a border of lavender. A circular reverse soffit ceiling with backlighting and a crystal chandelier complete the look.
The dining room adjacent to the grand room features a dining table in soft taupe veneers that seats ten. Chairs with a metallic finish include soft taupe tweed backs with a gold thread accent. A horizontal crystal light fixture is set over the table. A taupe veneer buffet with a gentle curve and door fronts with circular pulls is set against a wall with champagne metallic foil wallpaper that is also used on the ceiling. Lamps on the buffet include rectangular white shades and blown glass pieces. A glass wall provides a view of a wine room with a back wall finished with tile in an ivory tone and etched gold lines.
The walk-up wet bar adjacent to the dining room and grand room also looks into the wine room. A dark taupe bar cabinet includes vertical mirrors with gold sconces and a soft taupe granite countertop. A soft cream cabinet spans the length of the grand room’s feature wall. A television is set in an open space that is wallpapered in a chocolate-taupe grass cloth. Leather sofas in a taupe tone include nail head trim. Two swivel chairs feature a woven soft lavender fabric. A custom cocktail table includes chocolate brown and light taupe finishes. A sofa table showcases a floral arrangement. Two curved pedestals that form an X provide the dark toned base for a pair of square end tables. A soft gold dimensional metal sofa table with a wood top and a cream and taupe geometric area rug complete the setting.
The kitchen’s dark taupe island base cabinet is topped by a curved cream toned granite countertop. The perimeter cabinets are painted in cream with a countertop that matches the island. Five swivel bar stools at the island have a taupe woven fabric with nail head trim. Three long crackled clear glass pendants illuminate the island. The backsplash is finished with a geometric stone in soft taupes. A door integrated into a wall opens to a huge walk-in pantry. Two French doors open the breakfast area to the lanai. A taupe toned dining table seats four. A television and bookshelves are set into the breakfast area’s niche wall.
The study includes ivory grass cloth wall coverings and is large enough to accommodate a sleeper sofa with a taupe colored fabric, a pair of working desks and two leather desk chairs set below dark espresso built-in floating shelves, and a game table in a painted cream color. The desks have a black nickel finish and include file cabinet drawer fronts in an ivory shagreen. Soft beige and cream draperies flank a slider leading to a private patio. The study and master bedroom include medium toned hardwood flooring.
Gebert included molding details above and below a chair rail in the master bedroom. The bed features a slightly curved wooden headboard with wood trim and a champagne metallic accent. Slightly curved nightstands in the same finish host crystal lamps. A dresser has a similar design. A lavender velvet bench with medium toned legs is set at the foot of the bed. A soft lavender rug and a crystal chandelier continue the pleasing look. Two decorative chairs in a metallic gold finish with cream upholstery, a round lamp table in a soft taupe finish, and draw draperies in a light fabric embroidered in golden lavender create a comfortable ambiance in the sitting area.
The master bath’s floor is finished with Platina stone with a mother of pearl mosaic inset. The Platina stone carries into the walk-in shower. The vanity cabinetry is finished in a cream tone with creamy taupe Taj Mahal granite countertops and mirrors that extend to the ceiling. A vanity stool is done in a pearl metallic vinyl. Floor to ceiling cabinets flank the vanities on both sides of the space. A subtle creamy-gold wallpaper with large medallions brings an additional note of sophistication.
The lanai’s see-through fireplace and columns are finished in a beige stacked stone. The conversation area’s three-cushion sofa, four swivel chairs, and two ottomans are finished in blue upholstery to match the blue tone of the pool. The sofa and chairs have metal frames. A metal rectangular dining table with a sunburst design seats six in chairs with an ivory sling fabric. Cabinetry at the sit-down bar has a taupe and brown finish that matches the tongue and groove ceiling, a cream and taupe granite countertop, and a full-height granite backsplash. Long sconces are built into niches on either side of the grill area.
