Vogue Interiors announced that Interior Designer Salvatore Giso, IDS is creating the interior design for the single-family Barbuda model villa residence being built by Gulfshore Homes in the Westlake neighborhood of the West Bay Club community in Estero. Giso’s design will convey a bright, cheerful ambiance with softly elegant visual appeal. The Barbuda’s 3,137 square feet under air open-concept floor plan features a sprawling living space that includes a great room, dining area, and gourmet island kitchen. The plan also includes three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, a library/study, and a beautiful outdoor living area with a year-round kitchen, fireplace, pool and spa. The Barbuda furnished model is expected to be completed in June.
Giso’s vision for the Barbuda model is to design a fresh and timeless interior designed that offers a welcoming flow from the grand entry to the expansive outdoor living area. A classic color palette will take its cues directly from surrounding nature with the liberal use of mossy greens, layered creamy tones, and strong accents of light chocolate brown and cloud white. Clean lines and soft textures will be the basis of this light-filled home’s design. Subdued light cream porcelain tile flooring will be used throughout the generously sized home to create continuity and serene elegance.
Impressive double entry doors from the portico will open to a wide gallery hallway that will provide an immediate sense of space, light, and welcome while introducing the home’s signature soft color palette. The foyer/gallery will feature a niche housing a unique white leather wrapped console. This prominent statement piece will be embossed with a subtle Greek key motif and will be trimmed with a dark espresso-brown wood. A large vibrant custom art piece will be placed above the console in the lighted niche. Across from the niche, the discreet powder room will be wallpapered in a soft cream textured grasscloth. In the center of the foyer, a large brilliant crystal orb chandelier, with a singular sparkling faceted crystal suspended from the bottom, will take center stage. Designer Giso will also add a round dark chocolate and mocha custom area rug in the center of the entry to add color, texture and an even more dramatic effect to the space.
Four floor-to-ceiling pocketed slider doors will provide access to the outdoor seating area from the generous great room. In this main entertainment area, the feature wall will include a deep niche wallpapered in warm brown and flax textured grasscloth. The television will be mounted on the niche wall above a transitional iron and glass console. An oversized nubby textured linen sofa will be accented with intricately woven striped pillows in moss green and cream. In another reference to nature, two ivory club chairs across from the sofa will be upholstered in a heavily textured fabric in a pattern reminiscent of growing stems and grass. A pale moss shagreen and metal cocktail table will anchor the great room’s seating area and a custom designed area rug will soften and add color to the grouping. The cream porcelain tile will continue in the great room and dining room and striking dark stained wood ceiling beam architectural details will be featured in both rooms.
In the open dining room, a niche on the end wall will feature a full built-in wet bar and two separate temperature controlled wine storage cabinets. The upper and lower cabinetry for the wet bar will be in a rich chocolate brown and the bar countertops will be a cool creamy quartz. The transitional rectangular dining table will be in a warm deep brown and will be softened by rounded edges. The dining chairs will be upholstered in the same neutral nubby linen as the sofa in the great room and will feature contrasting dark brown wood trim. Both rooms will have an abundance of light provided by the wall of sliders.
In the gourmet kitchen, perimeter cabinets will have an Agreeable Gray painted finish and a counter surfaced in a silver flecked Milky Way Pompeii quartz. The kitchen island will seat four for entertaining and will have a countertop of light toned Cambria quartz. The large island’s base cabinets will be finished in a contrasting deep brown tone. Four upholstered taupe linen barstools trimmed with dark wood will front the island.
Dark chocolate honed wood floors will be introduced in the library where two large niches will be papered in a highly textured brown and black grasscloth. The niches will serve as a dramatic backdrop for floating glass shelves meant to display books and collectibles. A striking custom area rug in zebra patterned stripes of edgy gold, cool gray, cream and taupe will be set beneath an espresso leather-topped desk in the center of the room. The base of the desk will be stainless steel designed in a cross pattern. An impressive high-backed cream linen desk chair will be detailed with oversized chrome nail heads. Two comfortable ivory chenille club chairs with matching ottomans will flank an espresso wood side table across from the desk.
The chic master bedroom will feature a multi-layered palette of tonal creams and muted ivory with strong rich dark brown accents. The dark wood-trimmed bed will be flanked by matching large drum tables with doors for storage. The nine drawer dresser will be in the same rich brown tone finish as the bed. A romantic cream chenille chaise lounge will offer a quiet retreat. Translucent light cream window treatments and richly textured ivory and cream bed linens will continue the serene theme of restful neutral tones. Two sets of wide double doors will open to the outdoor living space from the master bedroom.
In the spacious master bath, the walls will be papered in a reflective silvery moss color with a deeper gray lattice pattern. His and hers vanities will feature cabinetry done in a cream finish and Statuario granite countertops. Matching porcelain tile will be used on the tub deck, floor, and the shower walls. The shower floor design will reinforce the subtle metallic details in the master bath by introducing sparkling silver and white glass chiclet tiles set in a custom geometric pattern.
The large lanai will include a complete summer kitchen for gatherings and entertaining. Dark stained cypress wood cabinetry will be paired with creamy granite countertops. The open weave resin wicker rectangular dining table will have a glass top and seating for eight. The contemporary design of the outdoor fireplace will feature columns reaching from the mantel to the ceiling of the lanai and the hearth-style fireplace will house the TV in a built in niche above the firebox. In the sitting area by the fireplace, two oversized dark resin wicker club chairs and a comfortable sofa will be covered in a warm taupe outdoor fabric and accented with moss green pillows. The outdoor entertainment space will continue to the pool and spa areas where taupe chaise lounges and resin wicker side tables will flank the pool.
