Vogue Interiors announced that company Principal Debbie DeMaria, ASID, IDS and Interior Designer Salvatore Giso, IDS have completed the interior design for a single-family villa residence built by Gulfshore Homes in the Westlake neighborhood of the West Bay Club community in Estero. DeMaria and Giso’s design combines organic and textural elements to bring a carefree yet sophisticated and softly elegant feeling to the 3,137 square feet under air residence. The floor plan includes a massive living space that combines a great room, dining area, and a spacious island kitchen, three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, a library/study, and a beautiful outdoor living area with a year-round kitchen, fireplace, pool and spa.
Inspired by the beauty of natural elements, DeMaria and Giso created an ambience that suggests easy elegance and free-flowing organic comfort. The color palette is founded on natural woods with taupes, beiges, and browns accented with fresh white that is featured as the predominant background color. Flooring throughout the living areas is executed in medium-toned raked oak which transitions to a white wide plank hardwood in the master bedroom and tile in the master bathroom.
The grand foyer presents a sense of arrival into a home that combines both elegance and casual charm. In the center of the wood floor, four large 24 x 24-inch marble-look tiles with mosaic inlay create a note of welcome. The foyer leads into a gallery hallway with a niche on each side. On the left, a dry bar features a four-inch profile to the edge of the creamy white porcelain stone counter. This material continues up the wall as a backsplash and offset dark espresso cabinetry. On the right, an architectural furniture piece creates a statement. The espresso-toned wooden base is topped with a black granite top with a three dimensional free-form chrome structure in the center for the look of sculptural metal art.
The powder bath features stacked tile shells in a mother of pearl with a chic linear presentation. A hammered platinum sink sits atop a custom scalloped demilune furniture piece in a silver scraped linen wood tone that blends perfectly with the shelving.
The gallery opens to the heart of the home with its spacious great room, dining room, and kitchen. A framed entertainment wall features a floating shelf in scraped wood with ottomans underneath for additional seating. An 80-inch television is set above the shelf along with two floating shelves that showcase sculptural pieces against a backdrop of chocolate brown mica wallpaper. To the left of the television area, a custom console accommodates the electronic control components for the home. The seating group radiates comfort with inviting textured neutral materials. An off-white sofa in a cream basket weave fabric is paired with two swivel chairs in soft metallic leather. DeMaria and Giso designed a cocktail table that includes a 30-inch goat skin table on casters that can roll along the length of a 64-inch ottoman for added comfort and versatility. Five equally spaced beams, stained in a color slightly darker than the flooring, adorn the length of the ceiling. Sliding glass doors open the living and dining rooms to the outdoor lanai.
The dining room showcases a remarkable table that provided the inspiration for the interior design concept. The table presents the appearance of a section sliced directly from a venerable tree. Its uniquely organic form is enhanced by large natural cracks punctuated by wooden butterfly insets. The table is finished in a dark tone and is 102-inches long, perfect for an informal arrangement of four chairs on each side. The chairs, upholstered in a pearlized white leather, create a lively contrast with the deep wood tones. Functioning as a buffet within a long wall niche, a console in an espresso finish with concave mirrored detailing complements the scene. Above it, an oversized free form mirror adds drama and dimension.
The kitchen features a spacious island where dark cabinetry is topped with weathered Taj Mahal granite. The bar stools are presented in a lighter wood tone used throughout the home. The perimeter cabinetry replicates the lighter wood tone to create contrast with the island. The perimeter cabinetry extends to the ceiling with the highest level designed as lighted display alcoves, each housing lovely sculptures. Along a side wall, a custom built-in that matches the perimeter cabinetry provides additional storage for small appliances as well as counter space in the Taj Mahal granite.
To the left of the foyer, a hallway leads to the study where the medium-toned oak wood flooring continues. The wall treatment is presented in a blend of bamboo and grass cloth while dark espresso cork is displayed in the ceiling coffer from which a striking chandelier is suspended. Two-toned cabinetry is featured on two walls. A sleek open desk extends along the entire length of the wall with floating cabinets above. The other side accommodates the television and ample cabinetry for equipment storage. The built-ins are complemented by a stylish chair, accent table and beautiful area rug.
The lanai offers enticing lake and golf course views. An outdoor kitchen features eye-catching cabinetry in a sandblasted two-toned silver metal with a rain textured inlay. On either side of the grill, leather granite countertops with black and brown striations extend for 20-feet. An informal gathering table and chairs contributes to the enjoyment of hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. A sectional sofa and chairs in a deep seat wicker with textural tweed tone upholstery are gathered around a linear fireplace encased in textural stone in variegated creams and browns. On either side of the fireplace, French doors lead into the master bedroom.
The master bedroom’s white wood floor is adorned with a laser cut cowhide rug. The bed is fully-upholstered in linen and flanked by nightstands in a taupy silver finish. Mirrors over the nightstands reflect the light from the French doors. Elegant white linen draperies with silver star metal studs of varying sizes add breezy charm. Across from the bed, a custom built-in dresser blends the room’s soft tones of natural wood and shimmery metallics and accommodates a 65-inch television and storage drawers.
A hallway from the bedroom displays a tile runner within the wood. Upon entering the master bathroom, the flooring transitions to the 24 x 24-inch marble-look tile in taupe tones with a matte finish that continues into the shower. His and her vanities feature rectangular marble vessel sinks complemented by light cabinetry and brown quartz counters. Tiered cabinets on either side provide additional storage. A free-standing tulip tub with flared edges is angled elegantly in one corner. A wall treatment in shades of hammered metal completes the tableau.
